Ignorance meets Truth

Written by my 17 year old self.

Ignorance meets Truth

I saw my future stand up and walk away,
As soon as I could obtain it.
Long had it sat on the shelf, just out of reach.
Once I stood high, assured
When finally I grew, I would be able to do anything.
The great day came
And I stretched out my hands with expectation,
But in that moment
I tripped on reality and fell, far, never to reach out again.
From my new standpoint
I watched my future befriend my hopes and dreams.
Together they left me,
Taking the long coveted moments of life,
Leaving me with the truth.

One Response to Ignorance meets Truth

  1. Vivien Calderwood says:

I wonder what you would write today as you look over the time since then? also as you think about your hopes & plans for the future? life changes doesn’t it & we change too as we are moulded by life experiences. You are a beautiful young woman, both inwardly & outwardly. We love you xo
