It’s None of My Business

Recently I was told by somebody that ‘it’s really none of our business what other people think of us’, and I came to the realisation that this is true. So often we get burdened down worrying about what others might think of us when it’s not even our business. Let them think what they think and we’ll mind our own business and enjoy life 🙂

It’s None of My Business

I can see you don’t like me
By the look in your eyes
What is it about me
That you simply despise
Wait, you know what?
It’s none of my business.

Could it be my skin colour?
Or the black of my hair?
It isn’t my fault
That I’m dark and you’re fair.
But you know what?
It’s really none of my business.

Or is it my gender?
Because I’m not male
So somehow I’m weaker
That I’m prone to fail?
Well you know something?
It’s not my business.

Have you got an issue
With my parents’ divorce?
And it rubbed off on me
So I’m evil, of course.
Well let me tell you
It’s really not my business.

Do you dislike my weight?
Am I that oversize?
Or am I too stupid?
Unlike you, I’m not wise.
Believe me when I say
It’s not my business.

You can think what you think
You can say what you say
You can sit back and judge
The way I spend my day
But you need to understand
It’s none of my business

With your frustrated thoughts
You can poison your mind.
But it won’t affect me
And I think you will find
I’m okay because I know
It’s none of my business.

I’m not here to please you
We don’t have to be friends
I hate that you hate me
But you know, in the end
What you think of me
Is really none of my business.
